Online text editors are useful because they create documents without relying on downloading programs on the computer. Many websites offer this service for free, including Microsoft, which offers a full version of Word in the browser, much like the original Office Package program. Google Docs, Graphite, among other less famous options, complete the list of five free editors to use online.

Google Docs is free and has many tools for text editing. To customize a document, Docs allows you to add photos, links, graphs and tables, synchronize notes from Google Keep. It is also possible to share the file with friends, who can view the editions in real time and add comments, creating a collaborative text. Among the tools available, there is a word counter and a voice typing system.
At the end of the editions, it is possible to save files in PDF or .doc format, used by Word, and also synchronize them with Google Drive. To use Google Docs, I need to provide Google login data.

The Microsoft text editor has a full web version that allows direct synchronization with OneDrive as the document is edited. Word Online has a layout very similar to the PC program, and offers basically the same editing tools as the software, such as text styles, inserting photos and links, as well as a review and comment service.
Word Online also has ready-made templates of graphic materials, such as resumes, cards, brochures and reports, for quick editing. It is possible to save files in PDF and .doc, and share with friends via links or invitations via email.

With a simple and easy to use interface, Graphite is a basic and online text editor. Despite few options for editing tools (there are only three types of fonts, for example), it allows you to create complete files quickly through a clean and pleasant layout. It is possible to add lists, change the layout of the text and include links, quotes, photos and videos. At the end, the user can download the file in .doc format, from Word. A negative point of Graphite is the language: it does not have a Portuguese version. In addition, to access it, I need to have a Blockstack account.
