In addition to Free app of the week, every Thursday Apple chooses a Movie of the week, whose purchase is for $ 3. The title selected this time was Life: A Portrait of James Dean, with Robert Pattinson and Dane DeHaan.
Check out his trailer:
Here's what Apple says about the movie:
Director Anton Corbijn expresses in this feature his personal experience as a photographer of famous bands, such as U2 and Joy Division. He recreates the famous Dennis Stock (Robert Pattinson) photo essays with actor James Dean (Dane DeHaan) in 1955, and conducts a powerful drama about privacy, artistic pressure and the power of the image. DeHaan shines when playing a tormented Dean in the last months of his life, going against stadium bosses and his own fame.
As usual, our reader Renato Alan Promenzio (@tripalavra), who is a cardholder, also sent us a personalized comment about the film:
Although James Dean is not well known by the new generations, he came to be among the greatest promises of American cinema. And, even with his premature death, he is still remembered today. In this melanic film the focus is on the director Anton Corbijn, who always seeks to show moments / situations that are out of the spotlight. I do not believe that it is a film for all types of public, although it pleases fans and those who like the biographical format. I recommend, from the same director, the film "A Mysterious Man", with George Clooney.
