Sunday another tip from our column MM Answers! ?
The question of the day:
How to disable images attached online in Mail?
Mail and priests
Mail, by default, displays attachments in line with the text in your messages. If you frequently send messages with many images and this option bothers you, know that it is possible to change it. Unfortunately, the Mail itself does not have an option for this exchange, leaving this change to the Terminal.
Changing the option via the Terminal
With Mail closed, just open the Terminal (located in / Applications / Utilities /) and enter the following command:
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool yes
With this change, all attachments in your emails will be presented in a cone shape.
It is worth noting that you can do this manually in each message you send, by right clicking on the image / attachment and choosing the option "View as icon". But the truth is that after a few times you get tired and end up preferring to change the default behavior by the Terminal itself.
If you don't like the option and want to go back to the original format, enter the Terminal again and type the command:
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool no
