Apple started a program to replace the rubberized base of white MacBooks unibody, marketed between October 2009 and April 2011. Under certain conditions, the rubber layer could come off the base of the notebook.
On the page dealing with the subject, Apple offers three options for the replacement to be made: at a Retail Store, through an appointment at the Genius Bar; in an authorized technical assistance, or by requesting an exchange kit with screwdriver, screws, a new base and instructions on how to perform the procedure.
Given that there are no Apple Stores in Brazil and the page to order the kit does not include our country, Brazilians have only the option to seek authorized assistance.
The provision of this exchange service is independent of the warranty status of the MacBook and anyone who has already spent money to repair the defect in question can request a refund through Ma's telephone service.
