Telegram launched Passport in late July, a virtual wallet for personal documents in the cloud. The resource stores user information to feed payment platform registrations, cryptocurrency brokers and other services that require identity verification. Records of this type request digitized documentation, selfie and other mechanisms to make sure the user is a real person.
With Passport, the procedure can be performed only once on Telegram to fill out forms with a touch. See how to use the function on your cell phone. The procedure was performed on a Galaxy S8 running Android 8 Oreo.

According to Telegram, the data stored in Passport is protected with encryption and cannot be accessed by the developers of the application. The broker, payment platform or similar services has access only to the data necessary to complete the registration. The user must unlock the digital wallet with a password to view and authorize data sharing with third parties. It is possible to save a driver's license, identity, face photo, address, e-mail and a lot of other information.
Step 1. Make sure that Telegram is up to date on Android or iPhone (iOS). Then, open the side menu of the application and navigate to Settings> Privacy and Security.

Registering using Passport
The use of Passport depends on the service where you want to create a registration. For now, only the ePayments online payment platform accepts registration of a new account using Telegram.
Step 1. When accessing the registration screen on a Passport compatible website, you will see a Sign Up with Telegram button. Click to open Passport in the application and see the information requested to complete the form.

The procedure applies to requesting documents, photos, e-mail and other personal data. At the end, review the information to be shared and tap Authorize to grant permission. From there the data will be transferred from Telegram's servers directly to the online service.
