Spotify announced, on Monday (9), an update of the home screen of the application for Android and iPhone (iOS) that highlights the songs and podcasts that the user usually listens to at that time of day. Streaming recommends tracks and artists that are usually played in the morning, afternoon or night, making it easy to access a podcast broadcast on the way to work or an album that was played frequently during the week at the gym, for example. The update is available to all streaming users, whether they are premium subscribers or not.

The new interface is displayed at the top of the screen and contains six suggestions of favorite songs, artists, albums, playlists and podcasts. Recommendations are automatically updated throughout the day to keep up with daily activities.

The content displayed in the new section groups names that were heard by the user frequently at that time in the previous 30 days. As they are automatically added by the Spotify algorithm, suggestions cannot be exchanged, added or removed by the user.
Prior to the update, the Spotify home screen displayed the history of songs and artists heard by the user at the top of the page, in sections such as Recently played or Your most listened to podcasts. These tabs continue to be displayed, just below the new personalized suggestions, along with lists like Made for you and recommendations for new musical discoveries.

The new layout is being released days after the iOS app receives new icons. On February 27, the Shuffle button, which triggers the random reproduction of songs, was attached to the play button, while the icons representing the actions of enjoying, playing and downloading songs were grouped in a line in the central part of the screen. Heart icon, which symbolizes tanned music, is now displayed next to the name of the track.
In addition, the platform started to display the cover art of the tracks on all pages of the application, making it easier to locate the music. According to Spotify, changes are being made to make the interface simpler, making the playback of the songs more daring and easy to use.
