Google Maps is the Google application service, available for Android and iOS, which allows viewing maps and images via satellite. The service helps countless people to get between two specific points, whether by bus, train, car or on foot. In addition to some classic features, such as showing the best route to the desired destination and the real-time location of public transport, the app also shows establishments in the vicinity and even gives you the option to book a table.

After searching for a route to the destination of your choice, it is possible to print that route and take it as a physical map. When the means of transport and other details of the trip are defined, just click on the options icon, in the upper left corner, and then select "Print". The chosen route will be printed along with other path options. Before sending to the printer, the user can also manipulate the map with zoom, to zoom in or out of the image.

2. Measure the distance between two or more points
For those who want to know exactly how far from one place to another, the web version of Google Maps allows you to calculate the distance between two points. For this, the user must click with the right button at the point of origin, then select "Measure distance" and then click with the left button on the destination. The service will show the distance in kilometers and miles. In addition, it is possible to add more points, just continue clicking with the left button to the other locations. To end the measurement, click on the right button and select "Clear dimensions".

There are two ways to work with coordinates on Google Maps: entering them or finding them. If the user has the coordinates and wants to know where they lead, just type them in the search box, as if searching for a street. The formats that work are: degrees, minutes and seconds (DMS, in the English acronym); degrees and decimal minutes (DMM); and decimal degrees (DM). Then, the service will show the address and the corresponding location on the map.
To find out the coordinates of a specific place, the person must right click on the point in question and then select the option "What's in here?". At the bottom of the screen, a box with the location's coordinates will appear.
4. Contribute to editing the map
You can inform Google of possible errors or changes in Maps, such as adding roads or a street signposted on the contract. The company asks users to warn them in case of: incorrect road names; misinformation about one-way or two-way roads; banned or non-existent routes and other errors. To report a possible problem, the person must click on the options icon in the upper left corner, and then select "Send feedback". After this process, you can choose what type of response to give Google about the service.

5. Save favorite places and access them on any device
In Google Maps, you can save specific addresses like "Home" or "Work", for example. In addition, you can organize other places by categories, such as favorites or the places you want to visit in the future. To save important addresses, just click on the point in question and then on "Save". After that, the alternatives "Favorite", "I want to visit", "Starred places" and "New list" will appear, to save each address and access them later on the smartphone or on other devices.
6. Search directions with a single click
The so-called "lazy search" offers many options. To access it, just right click on the desired point and then choose between the functions presented. Among them, it is possible to search for routes to that place in "Routes to here", find paths from that place to another specific point with the option "Routes from here" or even search for restaurants, bars or cultural spots with "Search nearby" .

Google Maps also has a history, with the addresses searched, routes found and other user activities. To access it, it is necessary to click on the options icon, in the upper left corner, and, soon after, on "Activities on Google Maps". A new tab opens in the browser with activities on Google Maps. If you want to delete something, the person can choose to delete individual events by clicking on the right option icon and then "Delete", or delete all the activity performed on that particular day by clicking on the trash next to the date.
