Ancestry claims to have the largest database in the world to help set up a family tree. According to the creators, there are more than 20 billion records from 80 countries and 100 million family trees. When creating a tree, the site gives tips on possible information of relatives available in its databases as the user enters the names of family members.
A free account on the service gives you access to a number of historical records, including censuses and immigration documents, in addition to information banks maintained by churches and military agencies for many years. You can find everything from birthdates to phone books. There are 14 free days to test before the first monthly payment of at least US $ 24.99 (about R $ 105 in the conversion), depending on the plan.

FamilySearch is a completely free genealogy service with more than 20 years of existence. Operated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, it has resources ranging from document recognition for data extraction and online scanning to accessing copies of files from more than 100 countries.
The site also has a powerful search tool that allows you to find, without much effort, people who have the same surname, where they come from and what year they were born. In addition to creating a personal tree, it is possible to save photos, audio and family images to compose a project.

It is no coincidence that MyHeritage is one of the most famous family tree breeders in the world. Just type first and last name to get a list with records of people with data in common and add with a click. The site has a base of 10.1 billion historical records to cross data, guaranteeing good chances of being able to find useful information. The service also allows you to build a tree with other people and Smart Matching to discover similar family trees.
The free platform for 14 days. After this period, the user must choose between the plan with a monthly fee of R $ 24.08 for a tree with 2,500 people, the plan of R $ 37.42 monthly with unlimited size and search for trees, or the one of R $ 60.75 per month, which entitles you to the complete database. Its operation is similar to that of the others, but there are some differentials, such as the search for surname origin and recurrence in different parts of the world, in addition to a section dedicated to the search for data from Portuguese ancestors.
Most functions are free, but it is possible to upgrade to a Premium plan for $ 12.5 (R $ 55) every three months to access a more advanced search tool.

The National Archives (http://www.arquivonacional.gov.br/br/consulta-ao-acervo/bases-de-dados) offers free and valuable data for those who need to create a family tree. Among the available databases, the most useful for this purpose is the one that brings records of the entry of immigrants into the country that landed at the port of Rio de Janeiro between 1875 and 1910. It is possible to search for passengers by physical characteristics, level of education, profession, marital status, among other variables that facilitate the work of those who try to find a very distant relative and who may have entered a different name.

Lucidchart does not offer databases or other tools for researching family members, but it can serve to improve the look of the family tree. Focused on creating mind maps and flowcharts, the service brings ready-made tree templates to fill and customize. Its appeal is its ease of use: it is possible to move the elements on the screen without interfering with arrows and other connectors, in addition to including links, photos and other relevant information.
The service is free and offers a premium modality with 1 GB cloud storage, review history and best illustrations for US $ 11.95 (about R $ 52) per month.
