If there was still any doubt about Apple's willingness to expand its original content production efforts Apple Music, it was certainly dissipated with the announcement of the first two original high-budget series for platform one, the remake Steven Spielberg's ?Histrias Extraordinrias?, and the other, a drama starring Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston.
Now, we already know what Apple's third major production will be, and it has a big name attached to it. According to Variety, Ma signed a contract to exclusively produce and exhibit a new ?space drama?, mixed with scientific fiction, developed by Ronald D. Moore, responsible for series consecrated as ?Battlestar Galactica?, "Helix" and "Outlander".
The series, still unnamed, will explore an alternative world "where the space race never ended" and be co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and Tall Ship Productions, by Moore himself. Who are also involved in the production of the series are the executive co-producers of the series ?Fargo?, Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi, as co-creators and screenwriters.
There is still no date for the launch of the new series, but it may take some time after all, Moore is busy, at the moment, with the success of "Outlander". It is possible that we will see a pilot debut in late 2018 or 2019, however.
