E3 organization may announce today the cancellation of the world's largest video game fair

Several conventions have been canceled or postponed around the world due to the coronavirus outbreak. After the cancellation of the Mobile World Congress, the Game Developers Conference, Facebook's F8, Google I / O; E3, one of the biggest video game events in the world can be canceled for the same reasons.

The coronavirus outbreak is the culmination of an event that has been having difficulties in taking place, with the same anticipation of previous years. Sony had already confirmed his absence, for the second consecutive year, and Geoff Keighley, one of the most important figures in the industry, the host of The Game Awards had already slammed the door on his usual involvement, due to creative differences. Last week, the show's creative director had also abandoned the Entertainment Software Association (ESA).

Bloomberg is advancing with the information that the virus's immediate fears forced the organization to cancel the event that usually takes place in June, and will seek to explore online options for this year's edition. This year's edition featured the new Microsoft console, the Xbox Series X, and of course, the unveiling of hundreds of new video games.

ESA has not yet officially commented, but could do so this afternoon, as reported, but publishers are already reacting, such as Devolver Digital, who wrote on his Twitter account everyone to cancel flights and hotels for E3. This week the edition of South by Southwest, a film, music and multimedia festival held in Austin, Texas, was also canceled.

The cancellation of the various events as a precaution contrasts with the holding of the RSA cybersecurity conference, which took place in So Francisco at the end of March. Two of the participants were positively diagnosed with Covid-19, according to a press release from the organization. The people in question are employees of Exabeam, a Californian cybersecurity company. The company draws attention to the people who visited its stand during the fair, to take the necessary monitoring measures.
