Last week, AMD held its Financial Analyst Day 2020. At the meeting, CEO Lisa Su, provided some interesting sales information for the PS4 and Xbox One. According to the presentation made by the company, the consoles would add more than 150 million units sold, for the period from 2013 to 2020.
AMD declares the amount of Playstation 4 and Xbox One sold since 2013
Despite AMD's declaration of video games sold since 2013, the amount pertaining to each of the two was not said. However, a few weeks ago, Sony revealed that the PS4 had reached 109 million units sold, that is, the Xbox One sold 41 million only. That is, the Japanese console developer had 68 million sales more than its competitor.
This lack of information has been filled in since the latest data became available. In the year 2018, EA Games reported that the Xbox One would have sold somewhere around 50 million units less than the PS4 (at the time it had sold 18 million). In less than 2 years, Playstation managed to sell another 18 million consoles.
It is interesting to note that AMD will make the base hardware available for both the next generation consoles from Sony and Microsoft, the PS5 and Xbox Series X. The video games are estimated to be released later this year, but are still undetermined.
