In 2012, a bug was reported to Android claiming that Santa Claus had a sad expression, and that he should be happy, representing the joy of the holiday. The smile only reached the cone two years later, in the 2014 update. In that same year, the good old man hat was also changed, receiving the traditional red color until then, it was orange, because the red color was not allowed in the emojis of the Google.

At Apple, the skin tone of the cone stopped being white and became yellow by default in 2015, so that the user could choose the ethnicity that represented him. From then on, the character's beard also turned yellow. The following year, Santa Claus won a version rendered in 3D, when a complete review left all the system's emojis in high resolution.

The Christmas tree emoji has existed since 2010 and is available on the main systems, with a very similar representation in all of them. The cone has a green tree, similar to a pine tree, decorated with lights, colored balls and bands. They all also have a gold star on the top.

For Emojipedia, it is difficult to find the difference between a reindeer and a deer and, in the case of emojis, that would not make that much of a difference. In this way, the deer (or deer) cone is widely used at Christmas representing the reindeer that pull Santa's sleigh. The cones are different, depending on the system, showing the animal in full body or just its horned head. Only the Google figure makes reference to the Christmas animal, showing a red nose traditionally related to reindeer.
