Another day, some more news for Apple's original content platform, which, if it continues at that pace, will already be a giant when it launches (even if that launch date is a mystery).
The first of them is the announcement of the development of a new series, brought by Variety: Ma secured the rights to produce an adaptation of the novel bestseller "Pachinko", by the Korean-American writer Min Jin Lee.
Described as one of the first English-language novels to delve into Korean-Japanese culture from the beginning of the last century, "Pachinko" brings the story of Sunja, a young woman who finds herself expecting the child of a member of the Yakuza mob and is invited to live a new life in Japan as the wife of a Christian pastor and, in this medium, poses themes such as forbidden romances, family sagas and conflicts of culture.
Producer Soo Hugh, who has worked in series as "Under the Dome" and "The Killing", be the showrunner production and writing some of his episodes; Min Jin Lee will also join the play as executive producer, as well as the company Media Res. There is still no information about cast, episodes or release date we will be waiting.
Who is also gaining (more) news the peak of scientific fiction "See". Now, the cast additions are from the actress Sylvia Hoeks (who was recently in "Blade Runner 2049") and the actor Archie Madewke (which was in the adaptation of ?Os Miserveis? in a miniseries, launched this year).
The two new members join the protagonist Jason Momoa (the Aquaman of the DC Universe in theaters) and a lot of other people as you can see, this one of Apple's most ambitious projects in terms of scale and (probably) budget. Let's wait!
