Google Stadia is reaching millions of smartphones later this week

The exclusivity of access to the Google Stadia it's about to end. The access that was previously given only through The company's Google Pixel devices will end.

Just this week, February 20, to be more specific, millions of new users will have access to Stadia's servers for the first time through their smartphones.

All of this is possible because Stadia is increasing its list of smartphones with support for the service, thus seeking to attract new users to the game streaming service.

See here the smartphones that will receive support from Stadia later this week:

As you can see, all smartphones in the Samsung Galaxy S line from the Galaxy S8 to the new Galaxy S20 are listed, as well as the Galaxy Note 8, Note 9 and Note 10 and their respective variants.

In addition, gamers smartphones, which include the Razer Phone and two ASUS RogPhones, are also on the list.

You need to subscribe to the service or get a friend pass from someone who already subscribes to the service to access the games You need to subscribe to the service or get a "friend pass" from someone who already subscribes to the service to access the games

But there is a catch, not only because your smartphone is on the list above that you can access Stadia's content, you still need to fulfill some other requirements:

  • Active account on Stadia, which still costs $ 129 through Google Premier Edition (which includes a Stadia Controller and Chromecast Ultra)
  • Either a current Stadia subscriber's Buddy Pass and a compatible controller or buy the Stadia Controller which costs $ 69.

If you own a console and don't want to spend money on a new controller, the Stadia FAQ states that any HID compliant control work to play via USB cable in Chrome or on a mobile device.

Remembering that you can use these HID-compatible controls when connecting via USB cable to your computer using Google Chrome or mobile phone. To use your TV, you will need to use the Stadia Controller and Google Chromecast Ultra.

The news is great! But unfortunately it seems that the service is not yet available in Brazil. At least not until the publication of this text. Soon we will have more information. The business is to cross your fingers and hope that the support extends to other locations and of course Brazil.
