Google Pixel 5 appears in Android Open Source Project

Now details about Google's flagship device, Pixel 5, have also emerged. It turns out that Pixel 5 is already being displayed in the code of the Android Open Source Project (AOSP).

The leak comes from a new code change for the Android Linux kernel, where developer Elena Petrova – from AOSP – explains that it was tested only on Pixel 4 and no other device, not yet.

According to a coding snippet, the commit was loaded under the policy of version 4.19 of the Linux kernel. The passage also mentioned "Bounds sanitizer in arch / arm64 / kernel / CPU feature.c makes image unbootable for Pixel 4 at 4.14 kernel. I didn't have a chance to test it on Pixel 5 with 4.19, and preemptively disabling UBSan there now to ensure bootability".

UBSan modifies the program at compile time to detect various types of undefined behavior during program execution. You can see in the image that "Pixel 5" is currently running the Linux 4.19 kernel, while Pixel 4 is in version 4.14. Therefore, we will see an update of the Android kernel to the next version of the operating system, Android 11.

Although there is no information about the specifications of the Google Pixel 5 smartphones, rumors indicate improvements mainly in the camera hardware, bringing a wide-angle camera and further improving your computer photography by delivering better photos in low light and portrait mode.

For now, this is all the information that can be deduced from these rumors. At least until we get closer to Google I / O 2020, a developer event that Google organizes in Mountain View.

Until then, we will have to settle for this information. Well, at least so far.
