Apple Brazil says it will exchange American iPhones incompatible with our 4G [atualizado]

The polemic involving the support band 28 (700MHz APT) of the iPhones XS and XS Max sold in the United States won a new chapter there of interesting or weird, choose you the word. I explain.

As we reported, this year Apple chose to offer a single model in the United States. This model (A1920 for the XS and A1921 for the XS Max) is compatible with more than 40 operators of wool, including the main four (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint). These versions do, however, support LTE band 7 (2,600MHz), which is the most used in Brazil today. However, they do not support band 28, which is the new network released for Brazilian 4G (it was previously occupied by the analogue TV signal) and is being rapidly adopted by some operators in some regions.

Golden Xs and Xs Max iPhones on top of each other

This means that when you buy an American iPhone, you will not be able to connect to the Brazilian 4G with band 28. Depending on your city and your operator, this can be a problem. Maybe not now, in September 2018, but in the not-too-distant future, it might bring you some headaches.

Well, once the problem is explained, let's go to a possible solution. According to TechTudo, a Apple Brazil reported that providing assistance to consumers who buy iPhones in the USA. How? Well, if the 4G of the device does not work properly, there is the possibility of replacing the imported product with another one officially sold in the country by the company.

That's what you read. And I will repeat, for those who did not understand: according to TechTudo, Apple power exchange American iPhones incompatible with our 4G for Brazilian models in case the customer has some type of connection problem with the network in their region. ?

We are facing an unprecedented attitude. The information is still very recent, after all, the iPhones XS and XS Max haven't even reached the international market yet. But if everything happens as informed, the consumer will not be the injured party in this story and, even so, Apple deserves applause. Let us follow the case.

Update 09/14/2018 s 11:41

Apple Brazil contacted the with the following statement:

The exchange of a model from the USA for one from Brazil only happens if a defect is identified with the device.

Well, it's been going on for a few years now. If a customer has an iPhone purchased abroad and it is defective that cannot be repaired, Apple will always exchange it for a national model (even if this model is different from the one sold abroad). There is nothing new here.

The novelty lies in what Apple Brazil declared to TechTudo, which was even reinforced in a new published article l. See s:

O TechTudo found that the company is considering the possibility of replacing iPhones from abroad with national editions if consumers have difficulties accessing the Internet. It is not known how to be the procedure. The internal orientation is to treat each case individually.

This statement, at least in our understanding, has nothing to do with defective iPhones.
