The Google+ social project, which is now 1 year old, has reached an incredible milestone: 250 million users. To celebrate this moment, Google announced the launch of two new features on Google+: application for tablets and Events.
According to the search engine, previous Android and iOS apps have changed the way users interact with the social project, causing Google+ to be used more on mobile devices than on computers. Now, with applications for tablets, the company believes that the trend will remain in the same direction.
?Our tablet app is not just bigger, just like the phone app is not just smaller. It organizes the content based on the type of activity and the orientation of the device. It features more informal Hangouts, clearer text and more vivid photos, ?posted Vic Gundotra, Vice President Snior.
The new version of Google+ for Android (including tablets) can now be downloaded on Google Play. On the iPad, the application will be launched in the coming days.
Google today launched its event platform on Google+. Unlike current competitors, Google+ really exploits the internet as a means of bringing together friends and all the content generated by participants in one place.
?The virtual event tools we have today are just ways to ask, Will you go ?. Worse, they don't work when you need them most: the time the event really starts. In real life we ??plan, have a party and keep talking. Software should make this even more fun, and that?s what Google+ Events is about, ?explained Vic Gundotra, Vice President Snior.
Another major differentiator of Google+ Eventos is the close integration with Google Calendar, which automatically creates calls to the event within your online calendar. There is also the possibility to include special themes, add YouTube videos and add animations to ensure your friends' presence.
Google even made available a new feature called ?Party Mode?. When you activate the feature, all photos and videos that you record with your phone are automatically uploaded to the event album, allowing users to share and view content in real time.
