Samsung announces the long-awaited Galaxy S III

Samsung announced a few minutes ago, in London, the third generation of the Galaxy S that comes equipped with Google's Android 4.0 platform.

Known as the Galaxy S III, the phone features a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED high definition screen (1280 720) and comes powered by a 1.4 GHz Exynos 4 Quad processor.

The device also has an 8 megapixel camera, capable of recording 1080p video on the rear, in addition to a 1.9 megapixel camera on the front for facial recognition and video chat.

In addition to the cameras, Samsung announced the implementation of a sensor that monitors the user's eye, preventing the phone from turning off while the user is looking at a photo or text for an extended period. There is also another sensor, based on the accelerometer, that answers a call when bringing the S3 to the ear.

The South Korean manufacturer also showed a voice assistant, the S Voice, which allows you to control the functions of the device (ex: photo camera) and comprises a wide variety of natural phrases, including the possibility to turn on the device by calling it o by ?Galaxy?.

The company has demonstrated a breakthrough in facial recognition by automatically detecting your contacts while you are taking pictures, so you can automatically share the content with them. The launch also has a wireless charger, just touching it on a platform to charge the battery.

Using Android Beam technology, the manufacturer showed a derivative feature, the S Beam, a union between NFC and Wi-Fi capabilities, allowing content to be shared between devices at speeds of 400 Mbps over NFC or 300 Mbps over Wi-Fi .

For now, there is still no forecast for the launch of the Galaxy S III in Brazil. Google Discovery sources, however, warn that the device will arrive in Brazil in mid-June.
