In yet another confirmation that Instagram is really close to Android, the developer yesterday released an open registration that will alert interested users as soon as the app is available on the Google Play Store.
With 27 million users on iOS, Instagram had been promising, for at least a year, to expand its user base by expanding its services also to the Google platform, Android.
A few weeks ago, Kevin Systrom, CEO of the company, pointed out that the product was really under development and should present advances and improvements when compared to the current version for iPhone and other Apple devices.
In a way, better than our iOS app, Systrom said. He added that the application is fast, works well on large screens and that the photos can be shared with Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and other networks.
