1. Detailed voice navigation
Google Maps has a detailed voice navigation function, announced on World Vision Day. The resource offers a more specific orientation, assisting the visually impaired throughout the route. The app provides more verbal updates on foot trips, announcements, alerts, periodic notices and the compass direction to indicate whether the user is in the right direction.
Although detailed navigation is primarily intended to help the visually impaired, it can also assist people in situations where they cannot move around on their cell phones, such as walking, a father pushing a cart or a traveler dragging suitcases. The resource is not yet available in Brazil but, according to the company, support for more languages ??and countries is "on the way".
2. Augmented reality (AR)
Live View is an augmented reality feature that allows the user to view routes positioned with real-world images. The function facilitates the visualization of the route to the destination point for those who wish to go to a place on foot, as shown by the TechTudo.

To activate the function, open the Google Maps app, enter a destination in the search bar and tap on "Directions". Above the map, select the option on foot, represented by a walking person's icon. At the bottom center, touch "Live View". Some guidance on using the feature will be displayed. Touch "Next" and "Start". When the application identifies where the user is, the routes will be displayed in the camera view.

The offline map feature is ideal for those who can be without Internet and do not want to risk getting lost. The function lets the user save maps from Google Maps on the smartphone or tablet and use them even when there is no network connection. To do this, open the app and search for a place. At the bottom, touch the name or address of the place and "Download". The map will be downloaded and the selected area will be available for 30 days, being possible to renew the time later.

4. Save where the car parked
This function allows the user to save the place where he parked so as not to waste time looking for the car. To use the feature, open the app at the location where the vehicle is parked, tap the blue dot that shows your location, and then tap "Set as parking location". When you need to find the car, just open Google Maps.

5. Plot routes with more than one stop
Google Maps also allows you to plot routes with more than one stop, useful for users who need to pass in several places during a route. With the feature, it is not necessary to add a new address every time a stop is made. To use the function, go to "Routes" and place the first location, then tap the three vertical dots in the upper right corner and choose "Add stop". Include up to two intermediate destinations and one final destination.
