MM Answers: how to get rid of a persistent notification / badge on your Mac's Dock?

Today another tip from our column MM Answers!

The question of the day:

How to get rid of a notification /badge persistent in your Mac's Dock?

The sign of unread messages or a ghost email that you can't find and that you keep presenting as a notification can be annoying problems to solve. Closing the application or restarting the computer often does not solve the problem. However, the solution is much simpler than you can imagine:

  1. Open the Terminal (in / Applications / Utilities /);
  2. Type killall Dock and press Enter.

Command

This command will restart the Dock, making it disappear / appear again.

Solved? If the answer is ?No?, try to open the message or email on another device that has access to that account. ?
