Apple recently opened a second facility dedicated to AppleCare repairs in the United States, according to multiple sources informed of the new location. It is located in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and public documents indicate that the facility is about 18,600 square meters with an additional 232 square meters of office space.
Apple uses the site to conduct repairs, exchanges and shipments of devices both to consumer homes and to Genius Bars at Apple Stores across the country.
Despite having two small repair locations (one in Texas and the other in Memphis), the large facility for this type of company work is in Elk Grove (in California, "near" the company's headquarters). With the arrival of this new location, Apple gains speed and efficiency, also covering the eastern part of the USA. (9to5Mac)
