According to the Wall Street Journal, Microsoft has filed a lawsuit against Motorola and claims the company has infringed patented features on its Android devices.
Microsoft claims that the copied resources are e-mail synchronization, calendars, contacts, meeting scheduling and battery and signal strength management features.
The process was registered with the International Trade Commission and the Washington forum (USA). In an official statement, Steve Ballmer's company stated that Motorola needs to stop the infringement of our patented inventions on its Android smartphones.
Horacio Gutierrez, of the general council of Microsoft, said in an interview with WSJ that the decision to sue Motorola has no connection with the fact that the manufacturer is not on the list of current partners for using Windows Phone 7.
