Uber launches security feature to identify very long stops | Productivity

The director of Uber's Tech Center in Brazil, Marcello Azambuja, said the technology can help improve the safety of users. "We believe that every trip should be smooth, but we also know that unforeseen events happen. For them, we developed U-Ajuda, which allows this quick access to tools that we have launched in recent years, such as calling the police directly or sharing the trip," he added.

The novelty is part of a package of security features announced by Uber in November 2019. Among them are audio recording during races, verification of the authenticity of documents, the use of a selfie to identify drivers and a security code for confirm that the passenger is in the right car. The functions are expected to reach the app by the end of 2020.
