Confirmed to be presented together with the new Galaxy S20 line, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, next folding smartphone from the South Korean giant Samsung, appeared on the internet and along with it brought all the data we need to know before the official launch.
Just like the Galaxy Fold, the Galaxy Z Flip is a differentiated smartphone, however it brings a different proposal from the Galaxy Fold. While Fold is a smartphone that turns into a tablet when opened, the Galaxy Z Flip a folding smartphone, getting much smaller than a conventional smartphone.
Similar to Motorola Razr 2019. Its design can be considered retro, since it takes us back decades when we used "flip" smartphones, which to be used should be opened.
The Galaxy Z Flip has a flexible vertical screen that can be folded horizontally in the middle. Its size of 6.7 inches in height and called the Infinity Flex screen. The "lid" can be opened freely thanks to an angle between 70 and 110 degrees.
Its 22: 9 format and has a resolution of 2636×1080 pixels (FullHD +). Like the Galaxy S20 smartphones, the Galaxy Z Flip features an "Infinity-O" design, in which the front camera is located in the center of the smartphone below the top edge of the screen.
Among other things, the screen supports HDR10 + and has a coating called "Ultra Thin Glass", which should provide significantly better protection than the existing Galaxy Fold film.
A special feature that Samsung implemented in the Galax Z Flip SM-F700 is the presence of a smaller external monitor, on the back of the smartphone with Gorilla Glass 6. This super AMOLED screen has 1.06 inches with a resolution of 300×116 pixels, with always feature on, used to display the time and various notifications.
Unlike the Motorola Razr, Samsung is bringing a very powerful processor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, which the user cannot expand. However, the choice of this processor indicates that the Galaxy Z Flip does not support 5G, at least for now.
The set of dual cameras, each camera has 12 megapixels, a wide angle with aperture f / 1.8 and another super wide angle with a field of view of 123 degrees and aperture f / 2.2.
The front camera of Samsung's new premium foldable smartphone, which is housed in the flexible screen hole, has a 10 megapixel resolution and an f / 2.0 aperture. A special feature is that the front camera also has an autofocus.
For the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, the company uses a two-part battery, with a total capacity of 3300 mAh and, therefore, approaches what was offered, for example, on the Galaxy S10e.
The autonomy of the new foldable is likely to end this being the same as the small notable S10e. Its support for fast charging of up to 15 watts via USB Type C port, while wireless charging supports up to 9 watts.
The Galaxy Z Flip weighs 183 grams and has a fingerprint reader on the side of the smartphone. When opened, the device is 7.2 mm thick – if you close it, the device is 15.3 or 17.3 mm high.
O Galaxy Z Flip arrive with Android 10 and One UI 2.0. The Galaxy Z Flip will be available in Europe from February 14, 2020 and its price will be around 1,500 euros.
