THE Microsoft today released an update to its news app for iOS and Android that practically redefines the entire service. With it, the company announced some changes to the app, ranging from the name to new features for mobile devices.

In addition to these devices, Microsoft News is also available on the Edge browser, Skype, Xbox, Outlook and the Windows 10 News application. The company released a service note on its blog, in which it reports that it works with more than 1,000 publishers and more than 3,000 newspaper and magazine brands in all major global markets.

Among the novelties in the interface, the iOS app includes an option for dark themes, supports the widget feature and has customizable alerts for breaking news. In addition, posts are organized through publishing partners, editors and algorithms, ensuring that readers are up to date on their own topics of interest.

Until Apple decides to expand Apple News to other countries, Microsoft and Google are taking the lead in information and news services. The Mountain View company app was launched just over a month ago and has some very interesting features.

Microsoft News is available free for iOS and Android.
