The joke of the ten-year challenge was one of the great feelings among Instagram users this year. The challenge is to show how the user aged between 2009 and 2019. Using the hashtag # 10YearChallenge, the challenge setups reached a peak of 4 million Instagram posts on January 21, 2019, just in first days of user mobilization.
It was so successful that variations with similar hashtags quickly emerged, including #HowHardDidAgingHitYou (something similar to "How much aging affected you"), #GlowUp (pun on the expression grow up, which means growing up, and the word glow, meaning brightness) and # 2009vs2019, all with photos that bring visual and age comparisons to users of the photo network.

The challenge came naturally after influencing Gabi Brandt to respond to a comment on his Instagram profile. The blogger said how she edited her images for the social network. At that moment, his followers started to try to reproduce the edition in an ironic way, sharing similar images where their skins appeared with fake tanning. The hashtag #desafiogabibrandt quickly became one of the most popular on Instagram, grouping publications from people who participated in the game. The Portuguese version of the song Shallow Now, the theme of the movie "A Star is Born", recorded by Paula Fernandes and Luan Santana generated an avalanche of memes on Instagram. After the singer posted a teaser of the version, users of the social network realized that the combination of Portuguese and English words had a curious effect on the meaning of the song. Shared memes moved the Internet, creating even a spontaneous advertisement for the launch of music.
In Instagram Stories, a filter was created so that people could join in the fun. The effect added the name of the song in its Brazilian version, "Juntos e Shallow Now" on the user's image.
Neighbor number challenge was one of the games featured on the web Photo: Rubens Achilles / TechTudo
The joke "Number Neighbor" (number of the neighbor, in free translation) attracted attention, initially, of American users of Twitter. In Brazil, the campaign went viral among users of online messengers, mainly on WhatsApp and Apple's iMessage. The challenge was represented by the act of sending a message to another person using his own phone number, but changing the last digit by a numeral above or below the original – thus reproducing what would be a conversation with his "number neighbor". Then, the conversation should be shared on social networks.
The movement came up with a tute from the user @ryanlavalleee who talked to his "number neighbor". His followers quickly did the same, thus producing a series of similar shares.
This challenge came when the digital influencer Larissa Rezende published a video in which she slowly applied makeup to her face to the sound of the song Evoluiu, by MC Kevin o Chris. In the scenes, the blogger initially presents her face without makeup until she reaches the result at the end of the video, following the rhythm of the music. In a short time, the game spread through social networks and received several variations. In some shares that use the hashtag #evoluiuchallenge it is possible to find, for example, people who play with the evolution of payment slips and progress in the transformation of drag queens.
With the success of the game, Larissa Rezende shared other videos in the same style using different songs. In one of them, the influencer suggests that her followers follow the choreographies of the music Ragatanga, recorded by the group Rouge.

The cap game became known worldwide when Instagram and Twitter users shared videos by tearing bottle caps off with their feet through a martial arts blow. The campaign quickly gained support from celebrities, including the fighter Max Holloway and the film actor Jason Statham – who quickly received over 14 million views on the video he shared. Other celebrities, like soccer player Ibrahimovic and actor Ryan Renolds also participated in the challenge.
In Brazil, the game also received the sharing of celebrities such as the fighter Fabrcio Werdum, who opened three bottles with one stroke, and youtuber Lucas Rangel, who had great difficulty in carrying out the challenge.

The Tetris Challenge drew attention for bringing people who simulated the environment of the famous game using vehicles such as trucks and ambulances in addition to objects organized on the floor. Each creator makes his composition and produces an aerial photograph that simulates the famous bars that explode from the game. The joke originated from a Facebook post by the Zurich police in Switzerland. On the scene, the police emerge simulating the game with their cars, cones, vests, flags and even a broom.
With over 4,500 likes, the publication drew the attention of other emergency services in the country and it didn't take long for it to spread quickly in other parts of the world. Rescuers from Asian cities, New Zealand and Mexico also shared images of the challenge.
Win Hof and his method that conquered the Internet Photo: Reproduo / Instagram
The fashion of taking a water bath with ice was highlighted on Instagram. Created by Dutch athlete Win Hof, known as The Iceman, the challenge drew attention to a technique for strengthening the immune system. Hof suggested on his social network a challenge that lasted 20 days and, to his surprise, the campaign won the world with thousands of users showing the result in photographs and videos.
Originally, the proposal is that the challenge be carried out in six stages that, according to the creator, are inspired by meditation activities practiced by Tibetan monks. Thus, the person should take five cold showers, either starting slowly or with a quick stroke over the head in one go. This challenge, however, is different from the Ice Bucket Challenge, created to involve people making donations to people undergoing a disease called ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis).
