CES 2019: Monoprice, Targus and Elgato launch new docks; Hyper launches hub for iPad Pro

THE Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019 it was the stage for many news in connectivity, as we commented this week. In the line of mobile stations (or docks), this was no different and some manufacturers exhibited accessories which are worth highlighting.

Among the series of new accessories presented by Monoprice this week, the dock Thunderbolt 3 Dual DisplayPort a great accessory for people looking for connection options. Even with a second generation Thunderbolt 3 port, the dock can optimize performance when connected to a device that does not offer this type of connection.

Monoprice Thunderbolt 3 Dual DisplayPort

of course, when connected to a Thunderbolt 3 computer, the performance is much higher. In this case, the dock can work with up to two 4K monitors operating at 60Hz (4096 × 2160 pixels); in the case of a single connection, it is possible to achieve a resolution of 5120 × 3200 pixels at 30Hz.

The dock also has two DisplayPort ports, one Gigabit Ethernet, three USB-A and two USB-C, which offer speeds of up to 10Gb / s when connected to a device with Thunderbolt 3. The product also has an output of 3 , 5mm for headphones and offers 60W of power, enough to charge the 13 ? MacBook Pro.

As we said, the dock is a great option for those who like connectivity, even more for computers limited to USB-C ports. In this case, although the physical connection remains the same, the video resolution drops to 1080p at 60Hz, as these ports support transmissions of up to 5Gb / s.

The Thunderbolt 3 Dual DisplayPort dock will start shipping this quarter and cost $ 180.

While some manufacturers value connection options, others focus on productivity, such as Targus. The American accessory manufacturer took advantage of CES 2019 to launch the first universal dock capable of working with up to four HD monitors simultaneously in addition to other peripherals and accessories from the USB-C and USB-A ports.

Targus USB-C Universal Quad Video HD Docking Station

THE USB-C Universal Quad Video HD Docking Station powered by a Dual DisplayLink DL-3950 chip, offering four HDMI ports. The connections allow the displays, when connected simultaneously, to work with a resolution of 1080p at 60Hz or, alternately, two 2K ??screens at 50Hz.

In addition to extensive video connectivity, the station also offers four USB-A 3.0 ports (one with fast charging support), a 3.5mm audio output for headphones, a Gigabit Ethernet port and two USB-C ports (one Thunderbolt 3, at the rear of the dock, and another at the side of 15W, for accessories).

The dock is available in the Targus online store for $ 275 (with delivery in the USA only). Let's hope it is sold in the Brazilian store as well.

No giant dock here: Hyper focused on the new iPad Pro and launched its first hub made specifically for Ma?s tablet. HyperDrive USB-C started as a project on Kickstarter that exceeded the stipulated goal eight times and is now ready to be dispatched from this month.
