A few months ago, Pioneer announced that it would update some of its multimedia systems for car dashboards, making them compatible with the Apple CarPlay. It took, but the thing arrived.
The cool thing about systems like Pioneer is that they can be installed in ?any? vehicle, instead of having to program yourself to purchase a car that already supports CarPlay.
See how it works, in practice:
Pioneer models now compatible with CarPlay are: AVIC-8000NEX, AVIC-7000NEX, AVIC-6000NEX, AVIC-5000NEX and AVH-4000NEX who already had any of them, just need to do a firmware update. They work with iPhones 5 or newer, exclusively with Siri.
Even though they are standalone systems, these from Pioneer are not cheap and range from $ 700 to $ 1,400 l abroad.
But of course, there is always how to spend * a little * more:
The Ferrari FF with built-in CarPlay is already on sale in Italy. Prices on request.
Other auto manufacturers, such as Volvo, Mercedes-Benz and Honda, promise to support CarPlay only from next year.
