Activate and experience the brand new look of Google Chrome, both on macOS and iOS

We agree: the Chrome It is an excellent browser and has long been the most popular on the planet, but its look is already getting a little outdated. Google knows this and is working on a significant browser renewal, based on its Material Design.

The bad news is that this new version should still take a few good months to officially arrive for all users. The good thing is that you can activate and test it right now, both on macOS and iOS.

On macOS

To activate the new interface, follow the step-by-step:

  1. In the address bar, type chrome: // flags and press Enter.
  2. Search for top-chrome-md and enable the option "Refresh".
  3. Search for views-browser-windows and enable this option.
  4. The two options above are already sufficient, but there are still a few related ones that you can activate to get the full experience:
  5. Search for secondary-ui-md and enable this option.
  6. Search for ntp-ui-md and enable this option.
  7. Search for enable-md-extensions and enable this option.
  8. Search for show-all-dialogs-with-views-toolkit and enable this option.
  9. Restart Chrome for the changes to take effect.

On iOS

To activate the new interface, follow the step-by-step:

Observations

Not surprisingly, these new designs have not yet been officially launched. They are in development, so there are visual aspects that are yet to be changed / improved and the browser itself as a whole may be slower and unstable with these options enabled.

If your experience is not good, just return to the above options and disable them. There is no risk.

Of course, the new interface is also available for users of the browser on Windows, Chrome OS and Linux; on Android, we?re not sure if it?s going to happen.

And what did you think? ? I think I enjoyed the iOS renewal more than macOS. On the Mac, the current look of Opera pleases me a lot and it is my current default browser, by the way.
