The days of 2018 are coming to an end and not only is the year about to end several websites and social networks have also said goodbye to users during this period. Google+, Keepvid, Inbox, DramaFever are some of the services abandoned by technology companies. The reasons for the ending are variable: from technical failures, lack of interest from the public of the service to even polemics with leaking data from internet users.

The first item on the list has not been officially discontinued yet, but has already announced its end for April 2019. Google's social network, also known as Google+, was created to facilitate sharing content with certain social circles.
The closure of the tool's activities was motivated by the leakage of data from more than 52.5 million accounts. According to Google, information such as name, email, age and profession was accessed due to a failure in the Application Program Interfaces (APIs).

The bug made it possible for applications connected to the social network to be able to view the data, even in profiles not configured as public. Although the misuse of the exposed information has not been identified, investigations are ongoing and affected users should receive a statement about the end of Google+.
2. Windows 10 for cell phones
It is no longer possible to buy new phones with the Windows 10 version. The news was officially reported by Microsoft executive Joe Belfiore, via tutes in late 2017. However, stocks of Windows phones ran out at official stores this year alone.
The company will continue to provide security updates and updates for bug fixes in the system. According to Belfiore, the reason for the withdrawal would be the "variety of apps and hardware" offered by Android, a rival platform that is present in most smartphones.

Also according to the Microsoft executive, "the volume of users is too low for most companies to invest" and this meant that there was no interest for popular apps from other operating systems to adapt their software to Windows mobile.
After more than ten years of operation, Keepvid has stopped offering the online download service. The site was created to download videos from YouTube, Facebook and Vimeo. Through the platform, users could convert the videos to watch them offline. The platform did not clearly explain the reason for the closure. The site now provides guidance on legal terms and conditions for downloading and storing videos, movies and music from the Internet.

Another Google product has also come to an end this year. Google Allo is an instant messaging application created to compete directly with WhatsApp. The service will be discontinued in March 2019 so that users have time to back up conversations and media.

The closure of the app is justified by the lack of popularity with users. The tool, which was launched in September 2016, has failed to compete with WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, which continue to dominate the instant messaging market.
Apple Music Connect was a social network developed to provide communication between artists and fans. Through the app, it was possible to see exclusive content from the artists, such as texts and videos from behind the scenes. Apple stopped the service on the 13th, but did not explain exactly why.

The social network no longer accepts new posts and the content will be completely removed from Connect on March 29. The company's goal was to be able to replace streaming services and also social media. However, it is suspected that the artists did not join the platform as expected.
Inbox is an email service from Google that served as a kind of experimental function lab. The application innovated with differentiated features, such as a Chrome plugin to save links online to read later, and was focused on developing easy solutions for managing emails.

However, several of these functions were implemented in Gmail, another company messaging service, with the launch of the new version of the platform in July. Thus, Inbox became obsolete and Google decided to end the product's activities definitively in March 2019.
Who also came to an end was DramaFever, video streaming on demand that was successful due to the great offer of Korean, Chinese and Japanese dramas. Warner Bros, the company responsible for the platform, said the termination was for commercial reasons.
