While the results of benchmarks of the new mini Macs were negative, those of the iMacs with Retina 5K screen apparently they are as expected. That's because the machines already had Intel's ?Haswell? processors, they just won versions with a clock slightly higher.
For the time being Primate Labs has only gotten numbers of the new entry-level iMac, with Intel Core i5 processor quad-core 3.5GHz, but I already have a general notion of the thing. It comes very close to the old Core i7 in tests single-core, but no multi-core there is still a difference of about 20%.
The guys also compared the numbers with those on the Mac Pro:
In surprising Mac Pro ?detonate? the iMac in tests multi-core, because it has processors hexa, octo and at 12-core, but the test single-core shows how Apple's professional cylinder already deserves an upgrade. It depends, of course, on Intel launching its new generation of ?Broadwell? chips, which should only occur in 2015.
In short: the great highlight of the new iMac even its Retina 5K screen.
