How to Convert Audio to Text with Google Instant Transcription | Apps

Transcrio Instantnea is an Android application that transcribes audio into text in real time through the cell phone microphone. The app, which is developed by Google researchers and works in Portuguese, can be useful to take notes in text using your voice and perform audio transcription automatically. The user can also enter manual notes using the keyboard, and export the entire text content to another application.

In the following tutorial, check out how to use the Instant Transcript app to convert audio to free online text. The procedure was performed on a Moto G7 Play with Android 9.0 (Pie), but the tips also apply to other devices with the Google system. The application is not available for iPhone users (iOS).

How to transcribe audio file into text with Instant Transcription

Step 1. Install the Transcrio Instantnea app on your phone. When opening it for the first time, authorize access to your phone's microphone by tapping "Allow". Now, just start talking and the text is automatically transcribed;

Step 2. At the bottom of the screen, if necessary, you can change the language. Touch the gear icon to change the text size, activate saving transcripts and access other settings;

Step 3. You can also add manual notes. To do this, tap on the keyboard icon and start typing. Manually entered texts are added to a separate annotation to the transcribed text;

Step 4. Double tap on the text and, in the menu that appears, press the option "Select transcript". All the text is checked and, finally, tap "Copy" to export the transcribed content and paste it in another app.
