The National Digital Driving License (CNH Digital) has reached the mark of over one million Brazilian drivers who use the electronic document. The new remote validation feature, launched on December 20, has contributed to a 60% spike in membership in the last three weeks. The tool brings the convenience of the driver to obtain the digital document in the app itself without the need to attend the Detran service station or use the digital certification. So Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul and Rio de Janeiro were the states with the largest number of digital CNHs, with respectively 230 thousand, 136 thousand and 79 thousand.
CNH's digital version, launched in April 2018 throughout Brazil, was developed by the Federal Data Processing Service (Serpro) for the National Traffic Department (Denatran). The electronic document is available for free in the Digital Traffic Wallet app for Android and iOS (iPhone) phones. In the application, the user can also have access to the digital version of the Vehicle Registration and Licensing Certificate (CRLV), available for Amap, Cear, Federal District, Gois, Maranhao, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pernambuco, Rondnia and Sergipe.

The digital wallet is still valid only for documents issued from May 2017, with QR Code printed on the back. The technology can already be used by 27 million Brazilian drivers out of a total of 60 million drivers in the country. It is also possible to use the digital version as an identity for domestic air shipments and public agency identification. In addition, the PDF version has the value of a certified copy on cartridge.
How to register and use CNH Digital

Next, it is necessary to confirm the driver's identity with facial biometrics through movements such as closing the left eye and giving a smile. Lastly, enter your mobile phone number and create a four-digit password to enter each time you access the document. The digital version can be obtained even without an Internet connection.

It is possible to issue the document through the app using the QR Code printed on the physical wallet, as well as using the camera of the device to perform facial recognition of the driver. Thus, the tool contributes to the convenience of not having to attend the Detran service station. That is, the entire procedure can be done through your smartphone or tablet. In addition, the driver has the ability to access the digital version without an Internet connection and use it as an identity on various occasions.
