US Special Operations Command plans to swap Android devices for iPhones

After our political-technological article showing the president of Turkey using FaceTime to give an interview, who could possibly help Apple make another big propaganda for the US army. This is because, according to the site DoD Buzz (focused on military news), soldiers from the United States Special Operations Command I will trade your Android devices for iPhones

According to a source from his own army who preferred not to be identified, soldiers will be awarded iPhones 6s and what they call iPhone Tactical Assault Kit (iTAC). Working similarly to what they previously used, the Android Tactical Assault Kit, he connects his smartphone to a radio with which unit leaders locate the soldiers' position on the map, as well as connect intelligence and recognition tools such as drone videos.

Android used by american soldiers

As there was no confirmation of the army itself, the reason for the decision cannot be stated. However, one of the reasons may be the unreliability of the devices with Google's operating system. The source reports that the Samsung device used by soldiers often freezes, requiring a restart. This problem happens mainly when you need to split the screen to simultaneously show the route of a unit and the images of a drone. Already referring to the Apple device, they indicated that everything "runs smoothly" and described the experience as "faster", "softer" and rated the graphics as "clear" and "unbelievable".

Even if the change is confirmed, this would not be the first time the army would use an Apple device. For example, iPod touch j was widely used by snipers (the famous Snipers), working as handheld computers.
