Apple Celebrates GarageBand's 15th Anniversary with Software Retrospective

Time passes, time flies, and the GarageBand still firm and strong, fortunately. You may not remember, but it's been a decade and a half since Steve Jobs introduced music production software with a "little" help from singer-songwriter John Mayer at Macworld 2004:

Today (January 6, Sunday), GarageBand completes the 15th anniversary of a successful story: Today, it is the most widely used music app in the world and is in more than 1 billion of iPhones, iPads and Macs around the planet.

Apple, of course, could not let the date go blank and shared a retrospective of the debutante's key events over his 15 years of history:

  • January 2004: Official announcement on Macworld by Steve Jobs and John Mayer.
  • April 2005: Nine Inch Nails lana Design ?The Hand That Feeds?, which fans can remix by GarageBand.
  • December 2005: T-Pain creates their first album, ?Rappa Ternt Sanga?, at GarageBand for Mac.
  • March 2007: "Umbrella", Rihanna's hit, created with drum loop ?Vintage Funk Kit 03? from GarageBand.
  • March 2007: Fall Out Boy Records ?Thnks fr the Mmrs? in GarageBand for Mac.
  • November 2007: Duran duran lana back of Nite Runner that fans can remix by GarageBand.
  • February 2008: ?Love in This Club?, by Usher, created with synthetic loop Euro Hero Synth 02.
  • February 2008: Ting Tings Records ?Great DJ? in GarageBand for Mac.
  • April 2008: Radiohead lana Nude as a GarageBand project that fs can remix.
  • 2008: Documentary ?It Might Get Loud? shows U2's The Edge using GarageBand on his laptop.
  • 2009: the resource Learn to Play announced.
  • May 2009: St. Vincent creates album "Actor" at GarageBand.
  • March 2011: GarageBand for iPad announced.
  • November 2011: GarageBand for iPhone announced.
  • October 2013: Apple launches new GarageBand for Mac with fresh look.
  • August 2014: Haim records the music ?My Song 5? at GarageBand.
  • June 2015: Marc Maron interviews Barack Obama on a podcast recorded in his garage using GarageBand for Mac.
  • January 2016: GarageBand for iOS gets support for Live loops.
  • May 2016: GarageBand for China arrives with traditional Chinese instruments.
  • April 2017: Steve Lacey produces the pipe ?PRIDE?, by Kendrick Lamar, using GarageBand for iOS.
