Uber begins banning users and drivers for inappropriate messages | Productivity

Uber announced on Tuesday (16) that it is beginning to ban passenger and driver accounts for inappropriate messages on the private transport app, in addition to Uber Eats. With the goal of increasing customer and partner security, the company now sets limits on chat conversations by car and Uber Eats orders, Android and iPhone (iOS) phones.

The measure has as its priority to prohibit any discriminatory, violent, offensive or sexual conduct. If an inappropriate conversation is confirmed within the app, the user account will be disabled. Uber uses a keyword base to identify cases of unacceptable language.

Messages that have offensive words in the app chat are automatically identified resulting in a permanent account deactivation. For an accurate analysis of conversations between Uber users and employees, a team of approximately 600 professionals works at the company's Excellence Center in So Paulo. The team is responsible for identifying inappropriate conduct in the app chat.

Uber's chat tool facilitates communication between users, drivers and couriers, who can tell if they are close to the customer, if any unforeseen events occurred during the journey or clarify route doubts. You can send standardized messages such as I'm here or I'm looking for you, for example. To ensure greater privacy, the person's phone number is not visible.
