Facebook has released night mode in Messenger for Android and iPhone (iOS) this week. The feature had been under test for months and a trick was needed to enable it. The dark theme is useful in low-light environments or for using the device before bed as it prevents the brightness emitted by the app's white background from irritating the eyes and disturbing sleep. When activated, the messenger replaces the light background of the chat with the color black. The font color of the texts is also changed to adapt to the new setting and make it easier to read.
In the following tutorial, learn how to turn on Facebook Messenger dark mode on your phone. The procedure was performed on an iPhone 8 with Apple's iOS 12, but the tips also apply to Google-powered devices. Remember that to get the function you need to download the latest version of the app on your mobile phone, know how to update your apps.
