More HomePod Delations: Smart Object-aware Camera, Apple Pay with Face Recognition, and more!

O HomePod continues to campaign for the election of the mouse of the year when Apple's secret affairs leak. The accidentally released firmware of the smart speaker has already pretty much confirmed the silhouette of the ?iPhone 8?, has given more details about its internal settings, talked about Apple Watch and itself, and now comes with even more news to delight.

Let's take a look at them one by one.

Smartcam

The brazilian developer Guilherme Rambo discovered, in the bowels of HomePod code, mentioning a possible feature of the "iPhone 8" which, at least tentatively, called Smartcam. The list of feature-related codes suggests that we are dealing with some technology based on artificial intelligence, which recognizes a number of objects or situations and automatically adjusts camera levels for a more balanced picture.

IOS 11 (or the next iPhone) will have something called SmartCam. It will adjust the camera setting based on the scene it detects

Listed elements include ?documents?, ?fireworks?, ?leaves?, ?pets?, ?sky? and ?sports?. Sounds like a great complement to the recognition features already employed in the Photos app that instead of reading later, the new functionality would be seeing everything in real time.

Apple Pay with Face Recognition

Much is said about the possible absence of Touch ID on the iPhone 8, which would be completely replaced by a highly specialized 3D face detection system. What many people have not thought yet is that Apple's biometric sensor is not only for unlocking the phone: it is also a very important component of Apple pay. What would Ma's payment system look like without it?

Well, according to this finding, Apple is implementing a specific code for Apple Pay to integrate with the likely face sensor and authenticate transactions only with the user's face. The so-called "Pearl ID" (codename Apple has been using for face recognition technology) has been found amid some payment system related codes, as seen in this tweet from @r_idn:

Right. From what I've seen, Pearl ID is used for everything except payments.

And this here?

With that, we assume that Apple is able to create a truly fail-safe system after all, if to add it to a payment system, it's good to be totally inviolable.

Yoga Mode for Apple Watch

Yoga is an excellent exercise. Not for me, I admit, but great. Practitioners, then, will be delighted to learn that the next versions of the watchOS It will most likely bring exercise support to the activity list. Today, yoga practitioners must include the practice manually in the "Other" category, so the addition will be a hand in hand for many people.

Codes indicating Yoga postponement as Apple Watch activities

That said, yoga is an activity full of very specific and complex movements, so we still have to wait to find out if this new feature will be incorporated into watchOS itself or just future versions of the Ma watch with more specialized sensors.

Other HomePod Sounds

In a beautiful metalanguage exercise, as it should be, HomePod also unlocks secrets about itself. We have heard some of their standard sounds in this article, but now others have been properly published on YouTube by developer Avery Magnotti. We have sounds like alarm1.wav, timer1.wav and Lighthouse.wav this third, we can only imagine the function.

Take a look (or rather a listen):

What other surprises does the particularly loud Ma speaker still hold for us? That, only the future will say.
