How To Edit Computer Video With HitFilm Express | Edition and creation

HitFilm Express is a free PC video editor for Windows and macOS. The program features an interface similar to Premiere and has several useful features such as variety of transitions, tracks and special effects. The tool is a good free alternative for those interested in audiovisual.

Step 1. Open HitFilm Express and press the "New" option in the upper left corner to start a project;

Step 2. In the screen that opens next, set the dimensions and duration of the video. Confirm the choices on the "OK" button;

Step 3. The program allows the importation of videos, photos, music and images. To do this, on the left side of the screen, select the "Import …" option in the "Media" section;

Step 4. Search for the file you want to open in the computer folders;

Step 5. The file will appear in the media library located on the left side of the screen. To start the work, simply click and drag the video to the edit track;

Step 6. If you need to make cuts, select the cutting tool and mark the point you want to cut;

Step 7. After selecting the snippet, use the selection tool to separate the snippet from the rest of the video;

Step 8. Simply select and press "Delete" on the keyboard to delete one of the separate parts;

Step 9. You can also insert effects. To do this, select the "Effects" option and view the list of available effects;

Step 10. Select the desired effect and drag the name to the edit track;

Step 11. To achieve the desired result, you may need to control the effect settings on the "Controls" tab. Intensity, timing and other attributes may change;

Step 12. After editing, at the top menu, press "View" and then "Export";

Step 13. A screen will appear to set the video resolution. The program already selects the size it considers ideal, but if you want to change it, just click on the desired alternative;

Step 14. At the next screen, select "Export" and then "In-Out";

Step 15. Then, at the bottom of the screen, select the "Start Exporting" option and wait for the process to complete;

Step 16. After the upload is complete, the edited video will be located in the editor export folder.
