New native feature of macOS 10.15 will use iPad as external monitor

Who has a Mac and an iPad has probably read, searched for information, or been interested in a solution to use the tablet as a second monitor or even as main, in the case of Mac mini. We have some options in the market like Luna Display, Duet Display, Air Display 3 and others. Now a new option has everything coming soon and it promises!

Guilherme Rambo, of 9to5Macsaid Apple is working to create such a native experience on the Mac. According to people familiar with the development of the macOS 10.15, the new system has a feature that allows you to send any window, from any application, to an external monitor. And this external monitor could be a normal screen connected to the Mac or an iPad!

Internally called Sidecar, this new option can be accessed when the user hovers over the green button in a Mac application window. The menu will have the following options: full screen, side by side or external screens (as we speak, including iPads and monitors external devices connected to the Mac).

And playing content for the iPad still has a really cool twist: According to Rambo, users can use Apple Pencil to draw / write on the tablet even when it is being used as an external monitor, effectively turning the iPad into a graphics tablet. over there Wacom Engineers are also working on options that will allow windows to be easily docked to one side of the screen, similar to a feature that already exists in Windows and simulated by the magnet app, widely known in the Mac App Store.

News regarding Apple's new operating systems is due to be officially unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2019, which runs June 3-7.
