Apple warns: 1st generation Apple TV and Windows XP / Vista PCs will no longer be able to access the iTunes Store from May 25

Apple reported today that as of May 25, 2018, users of Apple TV Grandfather and PCs with Windows XP / Vista can no longer access the iTunes Store.

According to the company reported in a support article, exactly three months from now there will be some security changes that will not let such devices access the store.

In the case of the first generation Apple TV, we are talking about an obsolete product and therefore will not be updated to support these security changes.

Therefore, after May 25, users will only be able to access the iTunes Store on second-generation or later Apple TV.

For PCs running Windows XP or Vista, they will no longer receive support from Microsoft. Then the user will not be able to use the latest version of iTunes.

If so, you may continue to use earlier versions of iTunes on your unsupported Windows PC. However, you will not be able to make new purchases or redo downloads from previous purchases on this computer. Ideally, then, upgrade to Windows 7 or later with the latest version of iTunes for store access.
