AI Portraits simulates artwork using selfies and artificial intelligence. The free tool was developed by IBM Watson AI Lab of MIT and is based on a database of over 45,000 portraits painted by artists from different historical periods.
When a user uploads their photo, the site crosses the features of the face in the image with the artwork and creates a simulation with surprising results. In this process, artificial intelligence also automatically determines which artistic style to use to simulate the face.
