Uber announced on Tuesday (23) a new system to ensure greater passenger safety. With the news, users receive notifications to confirm vehicle data and driver identity before boarding. In addition to new alerts, the company has changed the standby interface so that the option of messages and information about the race is highlighted. The update comes to the Android and iPhone (iOS) version of the app.
Once a race has been defined, the app system sends alerts that reinforce the vehicle model, license plate, name and photo of the driver who accepted the route. In this way, the user has information to identify fraud or even know if they are entering the vehicle registered in the service.

If it finds any discrepancy in the data, the company indicates that users cancel the race and perform the procedure to report the problem. The action is for platform analysts to verify the mismatch of information to identify the problem.
Uber has internal safety procedures to prevent users from having problems with their racing. During the driver selection process, the company conducts candidate background checks, renewable every 12 months for active drivers. The applicant and vehicle personal data are also provided in partnership with Serpro, a Federal Government IT company.
Recently, the company has revealed resources to omit from drivers history accurate information of a race address and an intelligent system for identifying inappropriate messages.
