The world's leading smartphone makers are introducing their weapons by the end of the year, and LGOf course, I couldn't stay out of the party. The South Korean presented today its new flagship of high standard, called V40 ThinQ, and drew attention for one specific aspect: not two, not three, not four, but five cameras placed on the body of the device.
But why so much camera anyway? The LG ps two on the front of the device (one regular and one wide angle to fit more people in selfie) and three at the rear: a 12 megapixel telephoto and wide-angle lens and a 16 megapixel super-wide-angle lens. The idea is to give users all the possibilities imaginable when taking a picture, including all at the same time because the V40 has a Triple shot It takes the same picture with all three lenses and then gives you the option to choose the best one.
What's more, here we have a 6.4 inch OLED HDR Quad HD screen with the famous cutout (which, here, smaller than the iPhone XS Max) and a body that brings glass front and back, as has become standard to frame that joins both sides of aluminum and the device has IP68 certificate of water resistance. The front cameras have the face recognition feature, but as it's not as advanced as Face ID, LG has also included a standard fingerprint reader on the back here.
The rest of the specifications are standard for a flagship Android in 2018: We have a Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB of RAM, 64GB or 128GB of storage (and microSD card slot) and glory! a headphone jack. Speaking of which, incidentally, LG continues the tradition of including professional sound components in V-line devices, and here we have a 32-bit Quad DAC Hi-Fi for maximum sound quality as well as a special speaker. boombox which uses the body of the device as a resonance camera the smartphone itself acts as woofer when placed on a surface.
The ThinQ V40 will hit US stores on the 19th, but LG has not announced details about selling the unlocked device – at least initially, users will necessarily need to purchase the smartphone from their carriers. Prices range from $ 920 and $ 1,000, depending on the carrier you choose.
