SUSE Announces New CTO for the Americas

Brent is a strategic technology executive who brings SUSE a lot of experience and insight, he will be the new CTO for the Americas

Open source software pioneer SUSE has announced Brent Schroeder as its new CTO for the Americas, a newly created position at the company. He will support the growing business in the region by helping SUSE identify, evaluate and lead key technology trends to meet the growing global demand for open source software and application solution infrastructure. Schroeder respond to SUSE Global CTO Thomas Di Giacomo.

New SUSE CTO

With a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Business Administration from Iowa State University, Schroeder was executive director and senior engineer of the CTO office at Quest Software, formerly Dell Software Group. Previously, he led Dell's CTO office in the enterprise software organization. He also held engineering positions at companies such as NCR, HP and Compaq.

Brent is a strategic technology executive who brings a lot of experience and insight to SUSE, says Di Giacomo. As the growth and momentum of our business continues, we require even deeper engagement, with a broader spectrum of industry partners, customers and open source communities. Brent will lead the strategic dialogue with these key groups in the Americas, delivering results that support customer success.
