Recording voice calls or video calls made by WhatsApp is not yet a native messenger option. This means you need to use third party apps to record conversations.
The feature can be very useful for anyone who does not want to miss any detail of what was said at an interview or business meeting. Or it can be used by those who want to prepare a tribute to someone with excerpts from their conversations.
Importantly, playback of the recorded content can only be done for personal use. In addition, the registration and sharing of unauthorized conversations by one of the parties involved can be a crime if the person feels injured.
With that in mind, check out how to record WhatsApp voice and video calls.
How to record WhatsApp voice calls
To record audio calls on WhatsApp, you need to download and install the Cube Call Recorder app on your Android smartphone.
Apple does not offer apps in its store that allow it to perform the procedure on the iPhone.
Configure Cube Call Recorder
1. After installing, open Cube Call Recorder and tap Next;
2. Then go on I agree to confirm that you are aware of local rules and regulations regarding the recording of content involving third parties and are responsible for the use that will be made;
3 Now tap Grant permissions to allow app access to your device's storage, microphone, phone, and contacts;
4 In the following message boxes, choose To allow;
5 Then you need to allow the app to override other apps. For this, go to Enable overlay;
6 On the screen that appears, enable the relative switch Allow overlapping other apps;
7 Then return to the Cube Call Recorder app. If you receive a message stating that the device does not support VoIP calls, ignore it;
- VoIP (or voice over IP) is the technology that allows you to make calls over the internet, such as those made on Skype, WhatsApp and Telegram.
8 If you received the above message, tap the three line icon in the upper right corner of the screen. If not, skip to step 12;
9 In the side menu, go to Recording;
10 Nas Recording Settings, enable item key Skip VoIP Verification;
11 Confirm your choice at Got it;
12 Now tap on Enable App Connector;
13 In the accessibility settings, tap the Cube Call Recorder;
14 Touch the key to activate it;
15 Confirm on OK.
How to record WhatsApp voice calls
1. Open WhatsApp
2. Access the conversation window with the person you want to call;
3 Tap a phone icon at the top of the right screen;
4 When you start the call, a pink tab will automatically appear on the side of the screen. From that moment on, everything said is already being recorded, even without the person answering.
- The pink tab is also displayed on incoming calls. If you do not want to record the conversation, just touch it and when it is gray, the audio is not being captured.
How to access your recordings
1. Open the Cube Call Recorder app;
2. Right on the home screen, all the recordings made are displayed. Tap on the one you want to hear;
3 Now tighten the play to listen to the content;
4 If you want to delete any audio, just select it by tapping on it for a few seconds. Then go to the trash can icon, which now appears in the upper right corner;
5 Confirm on Yes.

1. After downloading, open the Mobizen Screen Recorder app;

3 Then, to continue as a free user, go to Try later;

7 When initiating the call, tap on the Mobizen Screen Recorder icon;
8 Then select a camera symbol from the three that appear;
9 Wait for the count of three seconds and the conversation to begin to be recorded;
10 When you finish the call – or when you prefer – tap the Mobizen Screen Recorder icon again;
11 Now select a square symbol to end the recording;
12 Finish on End;
13 If you want the app cone to stop appearing constantly on the side of the screen, simply drag it to the bottom of the display to dismiss it.
- The recorded content is available in the mobile image gallery, inside the Mobizen folder.
Curious about WhatsApp voice and video calls
Not everyone knows, but you can switch a voice call to video without having to hang up. If you are on an audio call, just tap Video call and the contact may accept or decline the change request.
If you're in a video call, just press Voice call and wait for the other to accept. The functionality, however, is not available for group calls.
Incidentally, voice and group video calls are still little explored by the app's users.
Capable of supporting up to four users simultaneously, this type of chat requires everyone to be in a location with a good internet connection. This is because the call quality is determined by the weakest network among the participants.
Another curiosity regarding group calls is that it is possible to talk to a blocked contact – but you cannot add it yourself. The opposite is also not possible.
