THE iFixit no stop. After the new AirPods and the fifth generation iPad mini, the company has already published its recently launched dismantling. 10.5 inch iPad Air and, to the surprise of a few, found that much of the new model's internal components are inherited directly from the old iPad Pro of the same size.
According to iFixit pros, the ?no-pro? line of iPads has become a kind of Frankenstein: the parts are basically a mix of components and designs used in previous versions of iPad Pro, but unfortunately many of the best things from the more expensive line (such as modularity, the 120Hz ProMotion display and the easy-pull tabbed batteries) didn't make the trip to the cheaper layers of the family.
About the new iPad Air, specifically, the only notable elements it misses from the late 10.5-inch iPad Pro are the quartet of speakers. surround (now only two) and the most advanced camera module which at least frees the camera from the dreaded bulging lens. The logic board is located at the center point of the device, unlike older models of the Air.
The new model, code A2152, has a two-cell battery and 30.8Wh the same as the old iPad Pro. The battery connector is still clamped underneath the logic board, making component disconnection and repair very difficult. more complex than necessary. The Lightning door, in turn, welded plate, which is also a very negative point.
In the end, iFixit gave the new iPad Air a "repairability" index 2 at 10 possible points, criticizing the huge amounts of adhesive that make opening the tablet a complicated process and the aforementioned difficulty of battery replacement. Attracted praise, however, is the fact that you can handle all the screws on the device with a simple small Philips screwdriver.
