“Oprah’s Book Club” is released on Apple Books; eponymous series will hit Apple TV +

The links between Apple and the estimated host Oprah Winfrey are getting bigger (and more crossed). In addition to an Apple TV + series on mental health, Ma also released the Oprahs Book Club (?Oprah Book Club?), an update to the "platform" section of Apple's platform where the host periodically nominated a new book.

Unfortunately, the Oprah Book Club is not available (directly) from the Apple Books Brazilian Book Store; still, by searching for ?Oprah? in the Books app (Books), you can view (and acquire) the presenter's first indication, the ?The Water Dancer? in Ta-Nehisi Coates.

Oprah Book Club

For the presenter, the partnership goes beyond a project that encourages reading and refers to her own story:

I am this person today because of the experience of learning to read from an early age. Reading opened me up a whole world beyond the red dirt road and my grandmother's balcony in Mississippi. I want to do this for everyone. And the opportunity to do that with Apple, to talk to people around the world about the pleasures, the excitement and the tension that a good book can bring you. I don't know what better than that.

Perhaps most interesting of this partnership is the fact that Apple donates part of the value of each selection book sold to Apple. American Library Association, A group that promotes literary education in the US and in various countries, as highlighted by Ma CEO Tim Cook:

Few people in the world can unite us as Oprah, whose compassion and grace celebrate the power of unrivaled books. It is our honor to provide a new platform for the Oprah Book Club and support the American Library Association by opening hearts and minds to the joy of reading.

More than just an Apple Books partnership, Oprah also interviewed the authors of his Book Club for a new homonymous Apple TV + series, which will debut on the day of the release of the Apple Book + service. streaming (November 1st).

The first participant of the program was, of course, author Ta-Nehisi Coates, who was interviewed by Oprah in front of Apple Carnegie Library in Washington (DC).

A good book can open your mind and take you on a journey you never expected. Animated by this @Oprah Book Club partnership to celebrate the world's most amazing authors and the joy of reading! Starting with ?The Water Dancer? for the amazing Ta-Nehisi Coates.

According to Apple, new episodes will be released every two months on Apple TV +. In addition to the production on mental health, Winfrey also participates in another original Ma series on workplace harassment, which has no set debut date.
