New LG UltraFine 4K 23.7 ″ Monitor Appears at US Apple Online Store

A few weeks ago, when Apple ended the sale of LG's UltraFine 4K and 5K monitors in its US online store, we were wondering if the move was the beginning of a new Ma monitor itself or if the devices were simply being discontinued. and substitutes. Apparently the second option at least for now.

The Apple Online Store in the United States has started selling a new monitor model from LG, so unannounced is a 23.7 inch 4K panel at the same price as the previous 4K model, $ 700. The design is also basically the same, with the very discreet black plastic construction.

The new monitor has some advantages and some disadvantages over the discontinued model: despite the larger screen (the former was 21 inches), we have a slightly lower resolution (3840 × 2160 against 4096 × 2304 pixels) and therefore fewer pixels per inch. On the other hand, the new device has two Thunderbolt 3 ports, one more than the previous model with this, you can use the extra port to connect other accessories, such as an external HDD / SSD or even a second monitor.

As in the previous generation, remember, the Thunderbolt 3 ports provide up to 85W of power, enough to charge a full-speed 15-inch MacBook Pro while the computer transmits picture and sound to the screen.

The new monitor also features three USB-C ports and narrow speakers. The panel itself features IPS technology with P3 color gamut and maximum brightness of 500cd / m. It is compatible with any Mac or iPad Pro with a Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C port; To use older devices, you need a notorious adapter.

It is good to note that the new monitor is not yet available on the Brazilian Apple Online Store here, incidentally, discontinued models continue to sell (4K 21.5 ? for $ 6,500; 5K 27 ? for $ 11,500) until further notice.
